Yes, when you've done a marathon (26.2 miles) on a Saturday night, what could be better than a brisk three mile walk around the park on a Monday morning? Well that is what the Mistress's other half said to her this morning when she was trying to work out how she could get out of bed and get me walked! Without moving.
Anyway, we braved the rain - I love it like this - and I think the Mistress is feeling quite amazed at herself for completing the full Moonwalk! I knew she would do it. She trained very hard for fear that she wouldn't manage to get to the finish line but her walking companion, who did - comparatively - very little training, breezed through the whole thing. I think the Mistress felt that - at some points during the walk - it just wasn't fair. She who has trained, she believed, should see the training pay off. But it doesn't always work like that!
Sometimes you just have to believe in yourself; when you're a dog, these things come more easily. And even though I had a bad start in life, I never doubted myself. I have supreme inner confidence, which is why I think people (and other dogs) find me a bit much sometimes!
When I go to the park I don't need to play with other dogs; I am comfortable in my own skin and happy to amuse myself. Of course, I do have to have the Mistress's undivided attention - but that's not neurosis - that's called getting my needs met!
Yes, the Mistress may well have pounded the capital's streets all night long but she still has a long way to go with this self-belief malarkey!
